Interesting Ryan. Sounds delicious.

I have been using Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard for a bit now and I love it. Dirt cheap, mixes awesome, and can't complain about the taste - I usually go with one of the chocolate flavors.

Yea they really dont help anywhere along the lines of strength except for a few choices lifts(core exercises etc.).I still do them anyways fuck it...

That and you can probably take some more harder punches to the chest/stomach without being hurt as bad.

Sounds like subway is the best fast food

Subway may be good at times, but take a look at their ingredient list (readily available online), and you might find out that wheat doesn't necessarily mean whole wheat. Enriched wheat flour is the first ingredient (highest amount by weight). High fructose corn syrup is the 4th ingredient. A large amount of fructose isn't good for anyone (granted, one foot long isn't going to make you explode with fatness, but just keep it in mind if health is the first priority). Finally, are you eating this sub post workout? That's when carbs are stored the best in your body. Subway may be a decent choice if you're really in a pinch. I think a better choice would be two large chilis from wendys, hold the cheese, crackers, and sour cream. This will give you about 18 grams of fat, 40 grams of protein, and 60 grams of carbs (about 15 which are fiber). Anyway, this long reply was meant to convey the point of not to trust fast food companies even though they claim their meals are healthy. The best choice is to still bring your own food that's been cooked in advance!

I have most of his books in pdf format. He does have some good ideas and but the kettlebell stuff is too hyped up. His 'power to the people' program works well if you use the lifts he specified (deadlift and an overhead press). It wouldn't put much mass on you though.

As you guys can see I've had Gravatar working for a day or two now. However, not everyone uses Gravatar so I'm working on making Avatar Uploads and Identicons (for default).

Users should be able to upload their avatars now. Currently, if you do not have a avatar uploaded then a unique identicon will show. For some reason, I don't think avatars are working yet. I hope to get this straightened out tonight/today (since it's wee hours of morning), so upload your avatar if you want. (150x150 pixels max)

I remember Pavel! I saw a movie of his named "Power to the People". He's a very interesting guy. Totally anti-isolation exercises, and insane about compound movements. He definitely helped me understand the way the body works and how helpful powerlifting movements which affect compound muscles can be.

Thanks for sharing. Pavel is a lifting guru in my book.

Lemon, I got a lot of them from losing/gaining weight a few times over.

I would gain weight for football season, then trim down till summer and bulk back up. For all high school. Then after highschool I gained mad weight at college my first year (which is why I started this site) and now I've lost 60 pounds since my biggest - october before last I was 235. Voila, stretch marks.

Oh well, dosen't bother me none and dosen't bother ladies so I can live with them.

I, 100% agree.

Your body can get use to not only the amount of weight for the exercise, but even to the movements involved in the exercise. This is why even with weekly ups on the weight you are lifting, eventually you will plateau.

To get around this it's important to rotate, and be bold about trying new stuff.

For example: I'll do bench and flys for chest for a few weeks and then switch it up to something alittle different like drop sets on bench, or stick to decline/incline db press.

You know, same muscles - different movement. I'm still learning too.

I've started to really believe in the core-training ability of pilates. Exercises like: the hundred, rollup, leg lifts, scissors, etc.

Also, after getting use to the decline situp rack. I started doing it with a 25 plate held over my head. Then I moved up to a 45 and it was sick.

THEN, I realized I was maximizing the weight of the plate. So I moved where I held the weight - instead of holding it out in front of my chest - I held it behind my head with my arms back behind it. It was insanely difficult this way, and I was unable to do any. Guess I have something to train up to...

I've never tried any crazy shit like that. I hear elevated pushups are much better than regular pushups because theres more resistance though.

Whenever I go to subway I get it all dressed except for the hot peppers. 12 inch Steak and Cheese, all dressed with southwest and honey mustard sauce thats my favorite. I love the way they give you a cup and let you refill it as many times as you want.

Waste of time then. Maybe women think it looks good but I think guys with big muscly rib cages look like pricks. It might mean you can take punches to the ribs and get less hurt though.

As Joe pointed out, this is merely for cosmetic reasons. So as with most ab workouts, there is no actual purpose to them other than simply looking better, these could help with a stronger core. However, for i strong core I suggest doing something on a ball or bosu.

Based off what I've been told, stretch marks can only be permanently removed via surgery any other "cures" out there only help them fade.

I doubt I'd be able to do them, not enough core. However I might try them against a wall though.. see if it's harder on the chest and tri's,

Definitely requires a lot of work with the core.

Check out this video of a breakdancer you reminded me of. He uses a ton of handstands.
